Job Description:

The role is further responsible to ensure that all systems are maintained and optimized, increasing the capacity of the production process.

The focus areas for this role will be to:

  • Identify high risk and safety critical areas including areas of poor availability.
  • Disseminate best practice in all instrumentation aspects.
  • Analyse and identify problems on the current control solution, audit high risk and safety critical areas.
  • System trouble shooting and hardware problems resolution, calibrate and maintain all equipment within the control solution.
  • Support existing instrumentation, networks and hardware.
  • Assist with commissioning for onsite projects and ensure adherence to the Anglo Platinum standards and change procedures. 

This role is in the Engineering department at a C5 level reporting to the Instrumentation Engineer. You will be required to have: 

  • National N6 Diploma and Trade test or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Process Instrumentation) (T3/S4).
  • Registered as a Professional Engineering Technician with ECSA

Knowledge, skills and experience required: 

  • 10 years relevant experience in instrumentation is required.
  • Experience in Winders, PLC, VSD Drives, Fans, Process Automisation, Fridge Plants, Compressors and Conveyor Belts would be highly advantageous. 
  • Programming experience will be highly advantageous.  
  • Valid driving license code 08.
  • Advanced computer literacy (Word/Excel/Outlook, Sap).
  • English literate.
