The appointee should:


  • NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 or Adult Senior Certificate) or N2 in Engineering studies.
  • Completed formal Learnership programme prior to obtaining a Millwright artisan Trade certificate as recognised by the MQA.
  • At least 2 years working experience as a qualified Millwright
  • Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre
Key responsibilities include:

  • Regularly attend to SHE meetings
  • Ensure that relevant SHE documents are adhered to at all times and work in a safe environment
  • Ensure that the prescribed safety equipment is always worn
  • Identify environmental risks and ensure mitigation

  • Maintenance and repairs
  •  Conduct regular plant inspections
  •  Attend to both electrical and mechanical breakdowns
  • Assess breakdowns and apply appropriate fault finding techniques
  • Maintain and/or repair low level and high level mechanical and electrical equipment

  • Business improvement

  • Participation in improvement projects
  • Proactively identify risks and threats to the process
  • Recommend issues that can improve area performance
  • Ensure that any operational problem that is encountered is reported
  • Support efforts to overcome operational problems

  • Administration and reporting 
  • Complete breakdown works order
  • Create works order notifications
  • Conduct maintenance administration on the appropriate system
  • Compile an shift/work order reports
